Waiting for Pad Thai.

My life is really boring. Get up, practice, go to class or work, eat peanut butter and jelly, practice, eat something not very exciting for dinner (usually), practice, study, go to bed. It's stressful though! My goal is to become a robot so I can win a job in an orchestra. Robots don't mess up. Orchestras want people who don't mess up. So I'm under teacher's orders to practice 6-8 hours every day which is quite fun, in case you've never tried. Oh, May 20th, how I love you. That is the day of Graduation. That doesn't mean I get to stop practicing though, but at least school will be overwith FOREVER (or as far as I can see). These are the big things I've got left until May 20th:

3/1 New World audition
4/3-4 Buffalo audition (but probably not)
4/5 Ft. Worth audition
4/7 Comps...eww
5/1 Dallas audition

And then I've got three papers and a final for my music history class, but those are less important, even though they'll add to the general freak-outness. Maybe my skin will stop being obnoxious when that's all over. Auditions aren't over until I win one though... So, that's why I've been laying off the blog lately. Thank you to miss lovely Amber for the blog-sitting! Now we go pick up food from Mint Cafe, the new Thai place across the street! Yum!

I promise I don't usually complain this much....

Amber's thoughts on the Olympics

"Kristi Yamaguchi is my hero" the words of a young Amber in the only diary entry she ever wrote. I love everything about the olympics. There is a magnetic energy surrounding them that captivates me. These athletes have such an intense passion for what they do that you can feel the energy from 8,000 miles away. Their stories bring tears to my eyes and they love what they do so much that it is contagious and it inspiries me to do better in everything I strive for. It is rare that our world can be united in peace and competition simultaenously, but for 2 magical weeks every 4 years we are all one. Do these athletes give up when they face hardship? NO! they fight to the death not because they have to, but because they want to. We would all do well to follow their example. We celebrate when one of "our team" wins gold... but is a silver really less commendable? I think too often we forget all that the person who finishes last has accomplished. They are at the top of their field, the leaders of their country, every little girl's hero... and I hope they remember to love every second of it.

Roomate Love

Well Hello! this is a very special entry because it was written by Amber! If you don't know me I am Jessica's fabulous roomate (or so I like to think)

What is Roomate Love?
a. the name of a photograph
b. lending all your stuff to your roomate and never complaining
c. wearing the same color shirt as each other around town all day... and not caring
d. none of the above
e. all of the above

If you said e then you are right! Congratulations!

Jessica is amazing she is really fun to live with and is always up for being silly....except when she is practicing, which is often and thats why she rocks at the viola! Some of my favorite things about Jessica: she has an entire vocabulary of funny noises, she can run on no sleep, she likes bright colors, she always knows what I did wrong to my computer, she has great taste in junk food, and she always wants to throw parties with me! All of these things and sooo many more are all what inspiried the creation of the term roomate love.

Call me a hypocrite...

I always complain when people don't update their blogs for a long time, and look at me.... In ultimate lameness, I am directing you to Eddy's blog about the Valentine's party because he summed it up nicely with pictures. Ok, ok..I'll post one on here.

I like this one because you can see Amanda and Amber trying to pick up candy hearts with straws on the table, and Jenn trying to play Jenga with chopsticks on the floor. Good times.
By the way, I don't dislike blogging...it's just a busy semester. Meh! Posted by Picasa

Theme of the Week:

All I want is my degree and a job.

None of this paper-writing/academic-y stuff.

Is that too much to ask??

And to think I'm paying five-figure amounts for this! Sheesh!

I have a feeling this is going to be the Theme of the Semester. Would this be called 2nd Year Masteritis?

Just call me Miss Lazy Bones.
